I am a father to four amazing school–age children; a husband – for the last 15 years – to a very dedicated mother and friend, and I am a life–long devoted Catholic. People have asked me why I do not post pictures of my family and children to show that I am a "good person". I am very private person and I would like to keep my children and wife private; I can tell you that I am more than devoted to my family and there is nothing more important to me than they are – their privacy and safety are paramount to me.
I have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering (BEEE) from City College of New York; my field of expertise: photonics – (electromagnetics). I have a Master's degree in engineering, systems engineering (MSESE) from Johns Hopkins University; my field of expertise: System of Systems (SoS) – to include socio–technical and sometimes socio–economic phenomena.
Professionally speaking, I am an advisory photonic systems engineer with 27 years of experience with many United States Government Agencies – including the Department of Defense – on matters of national security and military weapons systems.
Together with my peers, our mission is to make sure that our military continues to be the best in the world - to ensure that all our brothers and sisters – in our military – can come home safe and sound to their families.
I am running for Anne Arundel County Executive because I am tired of the overreach of authority and abuse of power by our county's agencies – more specific, the office of planning and zoning (OPZ) and the office of inspections and permits (OIP).
I am very concern about the overspending, over–taxation and the waste of money that you and I worked so hard to earn. However, I am most concern about the violation to our constitutional Rights in the name of profit – by both our county and our state. I believe that we can do better.
The position of County Executive does not require any prior political experience, any particular professional experience or any particular political affiliation; what it needs is someone to manage the many local county agencies effectively – making them efficient and cost effective. There is so much waste and unnecessary bureaucratic processes. By applying many engineering processes – such as Six Sigma or CMMI – we can eliminate the unnecessary and redundant processes; this will lead to a smaller, leaner county government and ergo, a surplus of revenue that can be a reduction in taxes, or the ability to relocate that money to programs that benefit all of us, collectively.
I am very driven and innovative; I am a critical thinker preferring to use an ‘outside of the box’ approach when searching for solutions to complex problems – whether technical or programmatic. In my field, problems are opportunities waiting for the right solution.
I have many proven successes in managing complex engineering projects and delivering quality products within the constraints of schedule, technical complexity and more important within budget. I believe that together we can make a difference.
As County Executive, I pledge that I will remove all bureaucratic processes at the county government level and I will challenge those bureaucratic processes at the state level. I further pledged that I will uphold and defend your U.S. Constitutional Rights above all else, and that I will neither enact, nor enforce any laws, statues or codes that violate your Constitutional Rights - so help me God .
