I am a father to four amazing school-age children and a husband for the last 15 years to a very dedicated mother and friend. As a lifelong devoted Catholic, I prioritize my family's privacy above all. People often ask why I don't share pictures of my family to demonstrate that I am a 'good person.' The truth is, I am a very private individual, and my family's safety and privacy are of utmost importance to me. They are my world.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BEEE) from City College of New York, specializing in photonics – a field that encompasses electromagnetics. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in systems engineering (MSESE) from Johns Hopkins University, focusing on System of Systems (SoS), which includes socio-technical and socio-economic phenomena.
Professionally, I am an advisory photonic systems engineer with 27 years of experience working with various United States Government Agencies, including the Department of Defense, particularly on matters of national security and military weapons systems. My peers and I are committed to ensuring our military remains the best in the world, so that our brothers and sisters in arms can return home safely to their families.
I am running for Anne Arundel County Executive because I am deeply concerned about the overreach of authority and abuse of power by our local government agencies, particularly the Office of Planning and Zoning (OPZ) and the Office of Inspections and Permits (OIP).
I also worry about overspending, over-taxation, and the waste of taxpayer money that you and I have worked so hard to earn. Most importantly, I am concerned about violations of our constitutional rights in the name of profit, both at the county and state levels. I believe we can do better.
The role of County Executive does not necessitate prior political experience or a specific political affiliation; it requires effective management of local government agencies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. There is significant waste and unnecessary bureaucratic processes that can be streamlined. By applying engineering methodologies like Six Sigma or CMMI, we can eliminate redundant processes, leading to a more efficient county government. This can produce a surplus of revenue, allowing for reduced taxes or reallocation of funds to programs that benefit all of us collectively.
I am driven and innovative, a critical thinker who prefers to approach complex problems with an ‘outside of the box’ perspective. In my profession, I see problems as opportunities waiting for the right solution.
I have a track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects, delivering quality outcomes within budget and on schedule. I believe that together we can make a difference.
As County Executive, I pledge to remove bureaucratic processes at the county level and challenge those processes at the state level. I vow to uphold and defend your U.S. Constitutional Rights above all else and will neither enact nor enforce any laws, statutes, or codes that violate those rights – so help me God.
